Tottenham on Tuesday night, April 9 took a good step towards reaching the semifinal of the 2018/19 Champions League after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the first leg of their quarterfinal. Manchester City would have themselves to blame for losing this game against Tottenham HotSpurs at their new stadium as they wasted many scoring chances. David Silva had a chance to give Manchester City the lead before the end of the first 45 minutes, but his effort was blocked by Hugo Lloris as the first half ended 0-0.
Tottenham had to wait till the 78th minute before scoring their goal through Son Heung Min who was assisted by Christian Eriksen. HotSpurs' captain Harry Kane was unable to finish the match after sustaining an injury which could rule him out of the season. Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus almost scored for Manchester City at the death, but his shot was saved by Lloris who was incredible for Spurs as Tottenham won the match 1-0.
