The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
The role holder will focus on bringing in core expertise in the area of Specified Sector Lending (SSL). Candidate will have to focus on the SSL strategy implementation, working closely with the business segments, risk, compliance and other relevant stakeholders.

Business
- Implementation of SSL strategy as part of the central SSL team jointly with client segment teams and risk.
- Look for new avenues of SSL business / origination in partnership with client segments and Risk.
- Partner client segments to formulate and execute the SSL business plan.
- Actively engage in identifying business opportunities under DSL and SSL.
Processes
- Partner with Risk in conceptualisation and implementation of policy and monitoring processes.
- Active involvement in development of partnership models with NBFC / MFI / Agri Groups.
- Engage / liaise with external stakeholders including the regulator for advocacy, driving positive outcomes.

The role requires engagement with a wide set of stakeholders across various levels/ functions in the bank. Hence people management skills including influencing skills would be an important requirement.
Governance
- Managing / directing internal processes related to SSL Management (SSL identification processes / Compliance / Audits, etc).

- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Be a part of Nepal [Directed Lending business to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Ongoing guidance to sales team for appropriate SSL origination; monitoring etc. [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
