The game between the ACC U-16, the match of Nepal against organizer Thailand has been canceled under the Eastern Regional Cricket Championship. After the thunderous rain in Chiang Mai of Thailand, the final game of the group stage between Nepal and Thailand has been interrupted. Organizer Thailand while chasing the target of 235 runs set by Nepal, became unable to play the match while it rains heavily. Thailand was batting it's last ball of the second over with the loss of 1 wicket before it started raining. Nepal's Prashant Mahat took the first wicket of Chawatrichai before he could even score a run for Thailand. With the result of the game interrupted, Nepal and Thailand share 1/1 points each.
After sharing the points with Thailand, Nepal has made the place in the semifinals as a group winner. Nepal added 5 points from 3 games. Malaysia ranking second reached the semi-finals with 4 points. Whereas, organizer Thailand and Myanmar are out of group stage. Myanmar did not add a point while Thailand added 3 points.
Nepal who won the toss elected to bat first gaining 234 runs at the loss of seven wickets. Ashish Bhattarai played 58 runs in the semi-quarter of the innings. Similarly, Bishal Bikram KC scored 38 runs, Deepak Bohora made 35 runs. While, Bishal Kumar Patel & Nikhil Kumar Singh remained unbeaten playing 28 runs & 22 runs respectively. Thailand's Narvet Nuntaraj took 3 wickets while Yodashak Saranunakunk took 2 wickets.
